Project 822 Launches with Parents
This evening saw the exciting launch of 'Project 822' as we invited Year 11 parents into school to explore a range of topics focused on supporting their child to prepare for his GCSE exams. We were simply overwhelmed by the level of engagement from parents and clear unwavering support for the project. Over 130 parents took time out of their schedules to attend one of two session offered on Thursday 30th September in school.
Our brilliantly inspiring guest speaker, Abdul Ghafoor, challenged us to think carefully about the importance of making time for others, the power of belief & the important role parents play in a child's development. Mr Connor expertly explored the notion of 'positive parenting' and the power it has to foster self-belief in children, with meta-language at its heart. Further sessions focused on empowering parents to take an active role in their son's learning by providing clear practical advice and resources.
If you were unable to attend the event or would like to be reminded of it's content, we have made the presentation available via the following link.
Please look out for details of the next Project 822 event, where we explore the science of learning and effective revision techniques alongside your sons - Thursday 11th November
